The Remnant of Israel Will Return

20 aIn that day bthe remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no more clean on him who struck them, but dwill lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. 21A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, eto the mighty God. 22 fFor though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, gonly a remnant of them will return. hDestruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness.

Isaiah 11:11-16

11 iIn that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, jfrom Assyria, kfrom Egypt, from lPathros, from mCush,

12 He will raise sa signal for the nations
and will assemble tthe banished of Israel,
and gather the dispersed of Judah
from the four corners of the earth.

Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah,
and Judah shall not harass Ephraim.
14 vBut they shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west,
and together they shall plunder wthe people of the east.
They shall put out their hand xagainst yEdom and zMoab,
and aathe Ammonites shall obey them.
15And the Lord will utterly destroy

and strike it into seven channels,
and he will lead people across in sandals.

when they came up from the land of Egypt.

Isaiah 27:6

6 ahIn days to come

Israel shall blossom and put forth shoots
and fill the whole world with fruit.

Jeremiah 31:36-40

36 ajIf this fixed order departs
from before me, declares the Lord,
then shall the offspring of Israel cease
from being a nation before me forever.”
37 Thus says the Lord:
If the heavens above can be measured,
and the foundations of the earth below can be explored,
akthen I will cast off all the offspring of Israel
for all that they have done,

declares the Lord.”
38 alBehold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when the city shall be rebuilt for the Lord amfrom the Tower of Hananel to anthe Corner Gate. 39 aoAnd the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Goah. 40 apThe whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the aqbrook Kidron, to the corner of arthe Horse Gate toward the east, asshall be sacred to the Lord. atIt shall not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever.”

Jeremiah 33:17-26

17For thus says the Lord: auDavid shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel, 18 avand the Levitical priests shall never lack a man in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to make sacrifices forever.”

19The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 20 awThus says the Lord: axIf you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, ayso that day and night will not come at their appointed time, 21 azthen also my covenant with David my servant may be broken, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with the Levitical priests my ministers. 22As bathe host of heaven cannot be numbered and bbthe sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant, and the Levitical priests who minister to me.”

23The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 24“Have you not observed that these people are saying, ‘The Lord has rejected the two clans that he chose’? Thus they have despised my people so that they are no longer a nation in their sight. 25Thus says the Lord: bcIf I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed order of heaven and earth, 26then I will reject the offspring of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his offspring to rule over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. bdFor I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.”

Ezekiel 36:8-15

8“But you, O mountains of Israel, beshall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to my people Israel, for bfthey will soon come home. 9For bgbehold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and bhyou shall be tilled and sown. 10And biI will multiply people on you, the whole house of Israel, all of it. bjThe cities shall be inhabited and the waste places rebuilt. 11And I will multiply on you bkman and beast, and blthey shall multiply and be fruitful. And I will cause you to be inhabited as in bmyour former times, and bnwill do more good to you than ever before. boThen you will know that I am the Lord. 12I will let people walk on you, even my people Israel. bpAnd they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no longer bqbereave them of children. 13Thus says the Lord God: Because they say to you, br‘You devour people, and you bereave your nation of children,’ 14therefore you shall no longer devour people and no longer bereave your nation of children, declares the Lord God. 15And I will not let you hear anymore bsthe reproach of the nations, and you shall no longer bear the disgrace of the peoples and no longer cause your nation to stumble, declares the Lord God.”

Ezekiel 36:24

24 btI will take you bufrom the nations and gather you from all the countries and bvbring you into your own land.
